Know about Rotary

Rotary is an association of Rotary clubs worldwide. It’s made up of more than 46,000 Rotary clubs in over the globe. The members of these autonomous clubs are called Rotarians, and they form a global network of 1.4 million business and professional persons all volunteering their time and talents to serve their communities and the world. Individual Rotary clubs, in turn, belong to the global association called Rotary International.

Rotary members believe that we have a shared responsibility to take action on our world’s most persistent issues. Our 46,000+ clubs work together to:

How to join Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas ?

Chartered in 2003, the Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas has gained acclaim as one of dynamic, committed and enjoyable service organization. It has 31 members and most of them from retired British Gurkhas.

1. Prospective members must meet the following criteria:

Active involvement in a qualifying business or profession classification.

Possess a good character and a reputable standing in their business and professional endeavours.

2. How can I become a member?

If you live or work in Nepal and have a sincere interest in acquaintance as an opportunity for community service, you are encouraged to get in touch with the Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas at Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/RCTheHimalayanGurkhas) , or send an email to the Club President/Secretary.

3. What are the responsibilities of member?

Members are expected to attend weekly club meetings. They must pay annual dues to their clubs, their Rotary district, and Rotary International, and they’re expected to participate in local or international Rotary club activities or projects. Clubs encourage members to aspire to club leadership or committee roles.

4. What are the benefits?

The Rotary International Convention is our biggest event of the year. Rotary members from more than 130 countries meet at the convention each year to celebrate our successes and make plans for the future.

Rotary Fellowships give members the chance to join a group of people who share similar interests, hobbies, or vocations. Some groups use their fellowship to make a positive difference.

Rotarian Action Groups unite Rotary members, family members, program participants and alumni who share their expertise in particular fields by collaborating with clubs and districts on  projects.

How to support Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas ?

The Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas has completed number of projects in different district of Nepal specially in the area of ‘Water and Sanitation’.
