A special monument “Rotary Chautari” was officially opened at Sirubari, Syangja on 20th March 2022. A special Opening ceremony was organized by Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas at Sirubari, Syangja on 20th March 2022. The “Rotary Chauraty” was jointly inaugurated by the Charter President Rtn. Major Gopal Bahadur Gurung, MBE (RC The Himalayan Guakhas), President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung (RC The Himalayan Gurkhas) and land donor Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Gurung.
All the major projects and list of donors are kept as inscription in the monument. Likewise, list of the Club Presidents also been inscripted in the monument. Sirubari Village is the first rural tourism model village in Nepal. And also the first “Home Stay” village in Nepal. Hundreds of domestic and international visitors come to Sirubari to experience Homestay culture and village life. In this connection, Rotary Chautari could be a major attraction for the visitors in Sirubari.
The Initiator and coordinator of the Rotary Chautari is Past President and International fund Coordinator of the Club Rtn. Major Lil Bahadur Gurung, MBE. Likewise, Assistant coordinator of this monument is Past President of the Club Rtn. Krishna Adhikari. The complete project was funded by PP Rtn. Major Lil Bahadur Gurung, MBE, PP Rtn. Krishna Adhikari, Rtn. Andrew Morrison (RC Brigantes), Rtn. Barry Pollard (RC Brigantes), Rtn. Charlotte Gale (RC Brigantes) and Rtn. John & Lyn Proud (RC Northallerton).
The most important and kind-hearted person in the “Rotary Chautari project” is Mrs. Bishnu Kumari Gurung, who donated the land where the Rotary Chautari is established. She was felicitated by the Rotary Club of the Himalayan Gurkhas. Charter President Rtn. Major Gopal Bahadur Gurung, MBE; handed over the Token appreciation to her.
