Relief works for Flood victims at Helambu-2, Kiul, Sindhupalchowk district.
Dozens of houses were swept away and other many houses are under risk in Helambu Rural Municipality, Sindhupalchowk district due to massive flood in Melamchi River. The massive flood was caused by heavy landslide in Helambu RM, Ward no # 1, Bhemathang ground. Many families are displaced and new houses required to be built. For this, Helambu RM office has been actively working to collect fund and has been coordinating with other stakeholders as well, also they are collecting necessary materials.
The Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas has also provided little support to the flood victims of Helambu. Club President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung, Club IPP Rtn. Siri Gurung, Club Secretary Rtn. Capt. Mohan Kumar Gurung, Past President Rtn. Narayan Koney Gurung, IPP of Rotaract Club of People’s Campus Rtr. Juna Pun and Public Image Chair Rtn. Rum Gurung visited the flooded area. Relief materials has been handed over to Helambu RM Executive member Mr. Tsering Lama (Hyolmo).
List of materials were as below:
1. Colored metal sheet – 150 sheet (worth 200K)
2. Large tent – 3 sets (worth 150K)
The fund was collected by the members of the Rotary Club of the Himalayan Gurkhas and other sponsor were Rtn. Barry Evans and Ann Evans from UK. Likewise, Rtn. Manish Rajbhandari supported the tents.
