18th Installation programme of Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas
18th Installation programme of the Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas for the Rotary Year 2021/22 held virtually. In the installation programme, Rtn. Manoj Kumar Kandel, Assistant Governor was the Chief Guest from the Rotary International District 3292 Nepal-Bhutan ; in the event and Immediate Past Assistant Governor Rtn. Ambika Shrestha was the Guest of Honour.
Vice President of the Club Rtn. Bhoj Bahadur Khatri delivered welcome remarks and warmly welcomed all the participants including Chief Guest, Guest of honor and other Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors in the virtual ceremony. President Elect Rtn. Lok Bahadur Gurung introduced new President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung to the Chief Guest and other participants. Immediate Past President Rtn. Siri Prasad Gurung offered Collar (Mala), and handed over the Charter Certificate, Gavel and Gong to the new President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung. Chief Guest AG Rtn. Manoj Kumar Kandel conducted oath taking ceremony to the New President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung.
IPP Rtn. Siri Prasad Gurung briefly presented the project and social activities; those were successfully implemented during his tenure. IPP Rtn. Gurung presented Token of appreciation to the outgoing board of directors for their valuable contribution during the Rotary Year 2020/21. Likewise, IPP Rtn. Gurung presented a Guest of Honour to the IP AG Rtn. Ambika Shsrestha.
In the virtual programme, Rotaract Club of People’s Campus performed “Welcome Dance” and it was highly appreciated by the participants. President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung introduced his Board of Directors for the Rotary Year 2021/22 and he conducted oath taking ceremony to the Board of Directors. Past President and International Fund Coordinator of the Club Rtn. Major Lil Bahadur Gurung, MBE; delivered his speech in the virtual event. He further thanked to the outgoing President for his successful tenure and congratulate the incoming President.
Guest of honour and IP AG Rtn. Ambika Shrestha shared her experiences while working with our Club. She further appreciated the Club that has been able to achieve the goals successfully. She further emphasized to bring more new members to the Club. Past President of the Club Rtn. Krishan Adhikari introduced new AG Rtn. Manoj Kumar Kandel to the fellow Rotations and other participants.
President Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung presented Token of Love to the AG Rtn. Manoj Kumar Kandel. AG Rtn. Kandel addressed in the event, and he is hopeful for better implementation of the club activities in close coordination with RI District 3292. He further requested to the Club in the reporting that has been appeared in Rotary Club Central.
Honorary member of the Club from UK, Rtn. John Proud also addressed in the event and appreciated the Club for successful implementation of the activities. Past President of the Club Rtn. Major Yam B Gurung delivered Vote of Thanks in the ceremony. Past President and Sgt-At-Arms Rtn. Narayan Prasad Gurung provided attendance and sunshine report at the last.
In the programme, President of the Rotary Club of Northallerton, UK; Rtn. Ken Blackwood also participated likewise, President of the Rotaract Club of the Peoples Campus Rts. Manoj Shrestha, IPP Rtr. Juna Pun and Rotaracters were also present. The Master of Ceremony of the event was Club Secretary Rtn. Capt. Mohan Kumar Gurung.
