Installation Ceremony RY 2023/24

Installation Programme for the Rota Year 2023/24 of the Rotary Club of The Himalayan Gurkhas held on Sunday 2 July 2023. In the installation Ceremony, Assistant Governor (AG) Rtn. Devendra Shrestha was the Chief Guest from the Rotary International District 3292 Nepal-Bhutan; and Immediate Past Assistant Governor Rtn. Lalita Thapa was the Guest of Honour. Past President of the Club Rtn. Siri Prasad Gurung delivered welcome remarks and warmly welcomed all the participants including Chief Guest, Guest of honor and other Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors; He further introduced incoming President Rtn. Bhoj Bahadur Khatri to the Chief Guest and other participants. Chief guest AG Rtn. Devendra Shrestha offered Collar (Mala). Likewise, Charter President Rtn. Major Gopal Bahadur Gurung, MBE handed over the Charter Certificate to the incoming President and IPP Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung handed over the Gavel and Gong to the new President Rtn. Mr Khatri.

Chief Guest AG Rtn. Devendra Shrestha further conducted oath taking ceremony to the new President Rtn. Bhoj Bahadur Khatri. IPP Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung (President 2021-22 and 2022-23) briefly presented the project and social activities; those were successfully implemented during his tenure. IPP Rtn. Gurung presented Token of appreciation to the outgoing board of directors for their valuable contribution during the Rotary Year 2021/22 and 2022/23. President Rtn. Bhoj Bahadur Khatri introduced his Board of Directors for the Rotary Year 2023/24 and he further conducted oath taking ceremony to the newly formed Board of Directors. IPP Rtn. Satta Bahadur Gurung presented Token of Love to the IP AG Rtn. Lalita Thapa (for the Year 2022/23). IP AG. Rtn. Ms. Thapa thanked to the IPP Rtn. Satta B. Gurung and all board of directors for their tremendous support during her tenure.

Chief Guest and Assistant Governor (AG) Rtn. Devendra Shrestha addressed the installation ceremony and provided some guidance to explore and enter in the Rotary platform. He is hopeful for better implementation of the club activities in close coordination with RI District 3292. He further requested to the Club in the reporting that has been appeared in Rotary Club Central. Past President and Board of Director (RY 2022/23) Rtn. Major Lil Bahadur Gurung, MBE; delivered vote of Thanks in the Programme. He thanked to the RI District 3292 for their valuable guidance and support for the implementation of the club activities. He further emphasized about the ‘Rotary Chautari’ established in Sirubari, Syangja and urged to all to visit the monument.

At the last, Sgt-At-Arms Rtn. Juna Pun reported the attendance and sunshine reports. The Master of Ceremony of the event was Club Secretary Rtn. Capt. Mohan Kumar Gurung.
